Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - Tracy Smith led all scorers with 21 points to go along with seven rebounds, as the NC State Wolfpack upended the Georgia Southern Eagles, 75-57 in a non-league tilt at Reynolds Coliseum.
Dennis Horner added a career-high 16 points and nine rebounds for NC State (7-1), as he and Smith combined to shoot 17-of-20 from the floor. Julius Mays added 11 points, while C.J. Williams and Josh Davis each scored 10 in the win.
Willie Powers deposited 14 points to pace the Eagles (3-7), who fall to 0-6 on the road this season. Johntavious Rucker and Rory Spencer scored 12 apiece for Georgia Southern.
The Eagles never led in the game, and they dug themselves a 31-20 halftime hole after going 0-for-7 from beyond the arc and not attempting a single free throw in the first half.
NC State put the game away with a dazzling 19-of-26 (73.1 percent) effort from the floor in the second stanza.
The Wolfpack shot 64.7 percent for the game, as they piled up 50 points in the paint. Since moving into the RBC Center 10 years ago, NC State is now 9-0 at Reynolds Coliseum, the program's previous venue for 50 years.
