(Sports Network) - Two of the NBA's worst teams hook up in Hollywood Wednesday, when the Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Washington Wizards at Staples Center.

The Clippers lost for the eighth time in nine tries Tuesday in Oakland, where Monta Ellis scored 29 points, doled out six assists and grabbed five rebounds to lead Golden State past Los Angeles, 127-120, and spoil Baron Davis' return to ORACLE Arena.

Davis, who missed the Clippers' last trip to Oakland on January 25 with a bruised tailbone, played his first game in the city since opting out of the final year of his contract with the Warriors last offseason to sign a five- year, $65 million dollar contact with Los Angeles. He finished with 29 points and seven helpers.

Al Thornton contributed 25 points and nine boards for the Clippers. Zach Randolph added 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Marcus Camby amassed 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Wizards dropped the opener of a four-game West Coast trip on Tuesday, when Carlos Boozer scored 13 points and added 15 rebounds to lead the Utah Jazz in a 103-88 rout of Washington.

Nick Young and Juan Dixon donated 14 points each for the Wizards, who have lost three of four and eight of their last 10 overall. Antawn Jamison had 13 points and 10 boards in defeat.

Washington was without the services of forward Caron Butler, who exited in the first half of the Wizards' 112-103 defeat to Orlando last Friday with a hamstring injury and is listed as questionable for tonight.

The Wizards, who are a dismal 5-28 on the road, will also visit Denver and Phoenix on their trip.

LA, meanwhile, has the NBA's worst home record at 9-26 and Washington has won three straight over the Clips, including a 106-94 win in the nation's capital on January 31.
